SJUA was privileged to have Paul Anticoni CEO of World Jewish Relief, together with Ekaterina Mitiaev, Head of Impact & Livelihoods, visiting the JRU office and the KKSY Community in their new synagogue. Paul met with lots of Jewish Community Leaders when he was there. SJUA is delighted to be considered one of World Jewish Relief's Partners.

Paul Anticoni OBE, CEO of World Jewish Relief visited Uganda to spend time with our partner Jewish Response Uganda and see our work across agriculture and community building. He spent time out in the fields with participants discussing how they can farm different crops to sell on and make money for their families. He also visited the KKSY Synagogue to take in morning prayers and see what has become a key hub for the community.

“It still amazes me to find an orthodox Jewish community in the heart of East Africa. Driving through farmland and seeing children in kippot outside homes proudly marked with a Magen David, before joining morning prayers in a newly built synagogue surrounded by cassava and maize fields, was deeply moving.”
